Intro to Windows (1 half day)

This introductory class covers the basics of computer usage in a Windows environment. It includes a basic typing tutorial, mouse operation, how to save and open files, and how to best use the Windows operating system.

Intro to Word (4 half days)

This introductory class covers the basics of word processing such as creating and formatting documents.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intro to Windows or previous experience in a Windows environment.

Advanced Word (3 half days)

Advanced Word expands on the basics of Intro to Word and includes additional formatting methods, creating outlines, and mail merge techniques.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intro to Word or by Lab Instructor assessment.

Intro to Excel (3 half days)

Intro to Excel covers the basics of spreadsheet design such as entering data and performing simple calculations.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intro to Windows or previous experience in a Windows environment.

Advanced Excel (3 half days)

This class covers more advanced spreadsheet concepts including creating pie charts, analyzing data, and advanced calculations.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intro to Excel or by Lab Instructor assessment.

Intro to PowerPoint (2 half days)

The Intro to PowerPoint class covers the basic functions required to create an attractive presentation.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intro to Word or by Lab Instructor assessment.

Intro to Internet (1 half day)

This class covers the basics of navigating the World Wide Web. This class is aimed at those with little or no experience with internet usage.

Career Cruising (2 half days)

An internet and career matching system with in-depth occupational profiles. Also includes multimedia career interviews, database of college, university apprenticeship programs and a career portfolio. The Career Cruising website can be found here.
