Partnership Opportunities For Winnipeg Employers

Who We Are

The Program

Most of the women in our Work Prep Language and Literacy Program have significant Canadian work experience and consequently have a strong work ethic. Although they can understand and speak English fairly well, they need to improve their reading and writing skills to meet the demands of the changing marketplace.

What We Do

Learners in our program receive 25 hours of instruction per week over a one-year period. The curriculum is focussed on workplace preparation and personal development and is delivered by experienced EAL literacy specialists. In addition to classroom instruction, learners also receive career and vocational counselling and job search assistance from a team of success-oriented employment facilitators.

Preparing Future Employees for Your Workplace

Learners in our program are trained in:

  1. Computer skills
  2. Workplace health and safety
  3. Basic WHMIS certification
  4. Workplace culture and ethics
  5. Workplace standards
  6. Literacy and the Essential Skills

Want to join us?

  1. Invite our learners into your workplace for a workplace experience placement, and test-drive your next employee.
  2. Let us organize a visit to your worksite and expose a pool of potential job applicants to the advantages of working for you.
  3. Provide us with workplace documents like time sheets, manuals, and safety bulletins. Let us use them to prepare our learners for your workplace.
